Dwandwa
ActiveA 3D shadow sculptor — type two words and get a mesh where both appear as silhouettes from different angles.
typography3d-printingillusionthreejs
Dwandwa creates 3D objects where two different texts appear as silhouettes from the front and side. Type any two words — one for each face — and it generates a printable mesh.
The pipeline: text input, glyph rendering, rasterization to silhouette bitmaps, surface nets algorithm for 3D mesh generation, Three.js for visualization, and STL export for 3D printing. You can edit the result pixel-by-pixel before exporting.
The name comes from Sanskrit dvandva (द्वन्द्व) — duality. Part typography experiment, part optical illusion, part 3D-printable art.
