ಕಥೆ

ಚಳಿಯ ಕೊನೆಯ ಅಂಚಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲು ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಹೂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾದ ಈ snowdrop. ಮೊದಲ್ನೋಟಕ್ಕೆ ತಲೆತಗ್ಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಮಂಕಾಗಿ ನಿಂತಂತೇ ಕಾಣಿಸಿದರೂ, ಅದರ ಈ ವಾಲಿದ ಆಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಅರ್ಥವೂ ಇದೆ. ಮಳೆ, ಹಿಮ, ಮತ್ತು ಒದ್ದೆಯಾದ ಚಳಿಯಿಂದ ಪರಾಗವನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲು ಈ ಕೆಳಮುಖ ಗಂಟೆ-ಆಕಾರ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಬಹುದು. ಅದೇ ವೇಳೆ snowdrop ಮೇಲೆ ನಡೆದ ಅಧ್ಯಯನಗಳು, ಈ flower angle ಬಂಬಲ್‌ಬೀಗಳು ಪರಾಗವನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸುತ್ತವೆ ಎಂಬುದಕ್ಕೂ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಬೀರುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತವೆ. ಅಂದರೆ ಇದು ಕೇವಲ ಚಳಿಯಿಂದ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ ,ಹವಾಮಾನ, ಪರಾಗ, ಮತ್ತು ದುಂಬಿಗಳ ನಡುವಿನ ಒಬ್ಬೆರಡು ಸಮಜಾಯಿಶಿಯ ರೂಪವೂ ಆಗಿರಬಹುದು.
